Our next training will be a full day Introduction to Unix, taking place at the Butts Wynd Computer Classroom on Tues 24th October 2017.
Update 29.09.2017: this course is now full, but we are taking expressions of interest in another scheduling of the course for early 2018.
If you are a University of St. Andrews postgrad, postdoc or staff member attendance on the course is free and a lunch is included.

The next meeting of the Next Generation Bioinformatics User Group will be held at St. Andrews, and the key speaker will be Jukka Corander. IT is a half-day event, starting with lunch and will be held in the Physics Building. Registration is free and all with an interest in the burgeoning field of bioinformatics are invited to attend. We’re opening registration for two courses we are running at the end of April 2017 aimed at postgraduates and postdocs. The first one is a half-day introduction to Unix on the morning of the Thurs 20th April, and
8 22 days later a full day introduction to RNA-Seq data analysis on (NEW DATE) Friday 12th May which is funded by CAPOD. Both will be held in the Swallowgate classroom.
The RNA-Seq introduction requires familiarity with the Unix command-line and if needed, this can be acquired by also attending the Introduction to Unix course. Both courses are free of charge to postgraduates and staff of the University of St Andrews. Programmes and registration forms are linked below:
